Issues that We Commonly Treat in Women

Bladder weakness (overactive bladder).

Overactive bladder (OAB) is a condition characterized by a frequent and urgent need to urinate, often accompanied by a sudden and uncontrollable urge and leakage. This heightened bladder activity can lead to involuntary contractions, causing a person to rush to the restroom even when their bladder may not be full.

Pelvic pain & painful intercourse.

Causes of pelvic pain range from conditions like endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, or urinary tract infections to musculoskeletal issues such as pelvic floor dysfunction. Painful intercourse can often accompany pelvic pain disorders.

Incontinence.

There are various types of incontinence, including stress incontinence, which involves leakage during activities like coughing or sneezing; urge incontinence, marked by a sudden and intense urge to urinate; and overflow incontinence, where the bladder doesn’t empty properly. Causes of incontinence vary and can be related to factors such as weakened pelvic floor muscles, nerve damage, hormonal changes, or underlying medical conditions.

Pre and post gynaecological intervention.

Pre and post-gynecologic physiotherapy plays a crucial role in the recovery and rehabilitation of individuals who have undergone gynecological surgical procedures. These surgeries can include interventions such as hysterectomy, pelvic organ prolapse repairs, or procedures to address endometriosis or fibroids.

Prolapse.

Pelvic organ prolapse is a condition where one or more pelvic organs, such as the uterus, bladder, or rectum, descend or bulge into the vaginal space due to weakened or stretched pelvic floor muscles and supporting tissues. This often occurs as a result of factors like childbirth, aging, obesity, or chronic straining during activities like heavy lifting or constipation. Women with pelvic organ prolapse may experience symptoms such as a feeling of pressure or fullness in the pelvic area, discomfort during sexual intercourse, or difficulty with bowel and bladder function.

Pessary fittings.

A vaginal pessary is a medical device designed to provide support to the pelvic organs and address conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse or stress urinary incontinence. It is a removable, flexible device typically made of silicone, rubber, or plastic. The pessary is inserted into the vagina to support and lift the displaced organs, helping to alleviate symptoms associated with pelvic floor disorders.
